Strong subject knowledge
You know your subject well enough to explain it clearly, answer unexpected questions and adapt an explanation when the first one does not land.
Ability to teach live online
You are comfortable managing a live session over video, keeping learners engaged and handling the practical side of online teaching.
Reliable setup
A stable internet connection, a working camera and a quiet space where you can teach without interruption.
Patience with learners
You understand that children learn at different speeds and in different ways. You stay calm when progress is slow and keep looking for the explanation that works.
Safeguarding awareness
You understand the basics of keeping children safe in an online environment and are willing to complete BOA's safeguarding guidance before teaching.
Written feedback to parents
You are willing to provide clear, honest written feedback on each learner's progress as part of the BOA parent partnership.
